Coxsackie, New York is nestled between the towns of Hudson and Ravena, right along the Hudson River. The small town of Coxsackie is known for its history, art and nature. From riverside views, natural attractions, small boutiques, local art and food, the surrounding region is rich in art and culture.
Greene County is a four-season vacationland, with natural beauty from the Catskill Mountains to the Hudson River. It is also home to North America’s longest, highest and fastest zipline on Hunter Mountain’s Skyrider Tour, as well as New York’s highest cascading waterfall. In downtown Coxsackie, you can enjoy waterfront views at Riverside Park. Make sure to hit UnQuiet, an antique store that is adjoined with Ravish Liquors, a cozy bar. Just down the street, Dayline Oyster Bar and Kitchen has the best views in town. This rooftop restaurant has panoramic views, a seafood-focused menu, and a fantastic wine list and cocktail menu. Locals also treasure Griffin’s Market, a neighborhood grocery and delicatessen with homemade pizza that has been around since 1979.
The nearby town of Hudson is also known for its food, art galleries and antique shopping along Warren Street. If you’re looking for a chic place to eat, check out The Maker Restaurant, a high-end Italian eatery in a glass conservatory, located inside The Maker Hotel. We also recommend Kitty’s Market, a restaurant and market with a backyard garden, and also Feast and Floret, a flower-shop-meets-restaurant. There are a handful of fantastic pizza places in Hudson as well. Make sure to check out The Half Moon, a half-bar, half-pizzeria, and Baba Louie’s, known for their wood-fired sourdough pizza.
While you could easily eat your way through Coxsackie and beyond, there is also a plethora of natural attractions to see. If you’re feeling adventurous, plan a hike at Kaaterskill Falls. There’s no better way to explore the region than aboard a ferry sightseeing tour or sunset cruise.

The Wire Event Center is the perfect blend of the region: history, art, and authenticity. The rustic, industrial interior of the building still resembles its history as J.G. Newbury Ironworks, dating back to the 19th century.
After undergoing a three-year restoration project, the Wire Event Center has quickly become a local commodity for both intimate and large-scale events. The Wire was voted the “Best Place for an Event” by the Greene County Chamber of Commerce in 2024 and has over 10,000 square feet of event space.
The Wire can host up to 500 guests. Whether it’s a wedding, corporate function, fundraiser, social event, business meeting or gala, the Wire is well equipped for groups of any size.

The Hudson Valley Magazine awarded the Wire the Best Industrial Wedding Venue. The Wire Event Center is perfect for both indoor and outdoor wedding ceremonies and receptions. The event space has riverfront views, an expansive ballroom and atrium, and a 6-acre riverside lawn. The interior space can accommodate up to 375 guests in the ballroom. As the editors pick, the award noted, "if you’re dreaming of saying 'I do' with the river as your backdrop, having cocktails in a glass-enclosed atrium with an outdoor deck, then dancing all night with up to 500 of your friends and family in a hip, industrial ballroom with high ceilings and lots of windows, this is your spot."
Wedding ceremonies can take place on the lawn, in the ballroom, or in an outdoor tent space. The atrium room makes for a wonderful cocktail hour space and is also attached to a wrap-around deck.
Wedding parties love this space because there is also a hotel on the property, which provides space for out-of-town guests, family, and anyone who is staying for the whole weekend.

The Wire Event Center has hosted galas, business meetings, fundraisers, auctions, and more.
The ballroom can be set up for up to 375 seated guests. Tables can be arranged in a variety of ways to either face a podium, face inwards to create a center space for collaboration, or can be spread around the whole ballroom. There is also the option to split the room in half with draping, which can separate two private halves for breakout meetings.
Next to the ballroom, the Atrium is a glass-enclosed area with waterfront views, a full bar, and a balcony. Garage-style doors open up the space for easier access onto the deck and lawn.
For weekend-long events and trips, the James Newbury Hotel next-door is an exceptional place for the entire group to stay.
The Wire’s ballroom has plenty of space for dancing, dining, and hosting large groups.
In addition to the Atrium, the Greene Room is another option that offers a private space for VIP guests or vendors to store their items during an event. It also acts as a bridal suite for wedding parties. The Greene room is upstairs from the ballroom and has a kitchenette, bath and balcony.

The convenience of a next-door hotel makes event planning even easier. The hotel shares a porte cochère (covered entrance) with the side entrance to the Wire Event Center.
The James Newbury Hotel is an upscale, rustic voco® hotel that lies on an old shipping port. While it has undergone restorations in recent years, the industrial design is still present in the space’s ambiance and decor. The hotel was awarded the Albany Business Review’s Best Real Estate Deals “Transformation of The Year” award in 2024.
There is also a spa and fitness room inside the hotel, with "personal care packages" offered. The voco® James Newbury Hudson Valley also hosts a list of nearby attractions, getaways, and local offerings. Their list also includes a dining credit across the hotel's dining venues, romance packages and pet packages for during your stay.
There are three dining options inside the hotel, including a tavern, lounge, and oyster bar.
Dayline Oyster Bar and Kitchen sits atop the fifth floor of the hotel, with balcony views of the river and the top of the Wire Event Center. The menu mainly focuses on seafood plates, including a raw bar, caviar, paella, lobster rolls and crabcakes.
Next door, Patrick Henry’s Waterfront Tavern serves elevated pub food and signature pizza. From crispy calamari and brick oven confit chicken wings to a classic margherita pizza, Patrick Henry’s is sure to impress your palate.
