The effortlessly talented Tracey Buyce shared with us a recent Glen Sanders Mansion wedding. The wedding of Katelyn and Matthew was held on October 7, 2018, here's a look at their gorgeous day!
Picking the Perfect Venue
Katelyn and Matthew had a very specific vision for their wedding day. "It was important to us that the atmosphere be representative of the beauty, goodness, and thrill of saying - ËœI do, forever' together." When it came time to choose their venue, the choice was already clear! "We've always loved the aesthetic of the Glen Sanders Mansion ~ the timeless character and charm ~ and its recent renovations only made the space more appealing to us, revealing understated elegance and modern simplicity."
Here Comes the Bride
Katelyn and her bridesmaids got dolled up and strutted their stuff all the way to the ceremony. The bridesmaids were her something blue! They all held gorgeous floral arrangements by Renaissance Floral Design for the ceremony - a must for every beautiful bride and her besties.
When it came time for the ceremony, Katelyn and Matthew said their I do's in front of the picturesque Mowhawk river on the front lawn of the Glen Sanders Mansion - the perfect ceremony space for a beautiful fall wedding.
Time to Dine
After the ceremony, it was time for the reception. They enjoyed a delicious sit down dinner surrounded by more gorgeous floral arrangements.
As for the meal, Kate said "honestly, ALL of the food was my favorite. It was so much fun customizing the menu - Maria (our wedding planner) guided us in deciding the best options to represent the tastes of both families, and that would be sure to please our guests." They also took the inititative to customize their bar package by adding on a signature drink! "Our signature drink (traditionally a "Hemingway Daquiri") was better than I had hoped for".
After a night of drinking and dancing, the two were able to continue the celebration with their closest friends and family in our restaurant, The Lounge. With this in mind, Matt said, "it was such a cool touch to have the after-party in the pub downstairs, where the bartender made us feel at home, and the good food kept coming."
Wedding Day Reflections
When asked what Kate felt was special about their wedding she said; "one [moment] that stands out in my mind is our first dance; especially when Matt whispered to me that it felt like no one else was in the room, and then hugged and lifted me off the floor, twirling me at the end of our song." Everyone was feeling the love radiating from these two on their special day. Wedding planner Maria DeMartino even remarked that "Katelyn and Matt exemplified the love, beauty and grace of such a momentous day! I feel confident by beginning this new chapter in their life based on Love, Prayer and Faith they will have a lasting and beautiful Marriage. "
Overall Kate and Matt said, "we are grateful for the immense support that enabled us to look back on our wedding day with memories of carefree joy and celebration. We can't say enough about how friendly and thoughtful the staff is at the GSM. Maria has always made us feel special and has gone above and beyond for us. Maki (our bridal attendant) was there all night with a smile on her face, asking if there was anything she could do for us; while simultaneously being one step ahead. Leslie, along withChristine Wheat and her staff, made sure that everything we had discussed at our final meeting was accounted for on that day, and done in an organized manner."
When asked what advice they would offer to future brides the two remarked, "Our tip would be to find vendors that [are] as friendly and professional as the ones that we were blessed to work with".
