We are thrilled to announce Carney McGuire as our Director of Sales. Carney brings 15+ years of experience in hospitality and event sales to the Mazzone Hospitality Team.
Before Mazzone, Carney worked as a Director of Sales for Hilton Hotel Group and BBL Hospitality for over 10 years, both in Upstate N.Y. and New Jersey. She helped open the Hilton Garden Inn and Recovery Room by Albany Med before taking another wonderful opportunity to launch the Rivers Casino Sales and Events in Schenectady in 2016. While at Rivers, she helped form the Convention Bureau that would go on to become Discover Schenectady that has helped grow the hospitality industry at large in Schenectady.
Carney attributes some of her success to being a heat seeker for events ever since her humble upbringing in Babylon, NY on Long Island. She worked in her mother’s floral shop, bartended, and worked tons of events for a catering company during the summers. Then after receiving her bachelor’s degree in Communications and Advertising from S.U.N.Y. Oswego, Carney ended up on Wall Street with Charles Schwab out of college. All these experiences only sharpened the hospitality, business and making connections skills that drive her success today.
Carney is open to exploring all types of foods. Recently she has been developing a taste for modern southern cooking and local Craft Beers. She loves to travel with her husband and two sons, most recently to Nashville, Ireland, and Greece. When not at work or traveling, you can find Carney playing golf, gardening, or hanging out with her rescue dog Gracie.
